BUST MEASUREMENT

To take the Bust measurement, wrap a soft tape measure around the upper body, over the bust apex or nipples and bring the tape measure together at the front. Make sure your tape measure remains parallel to the ground across the front, side and back.

WAIST MEASUREMENT

To find the model’s natural waistline, take a piece of string and create a slipknot loop. Make sure that it is wide enough to go around the widest part of the body. Ask your model to step into the loop and bring it up towards the natural waistline. Tighten the loop around the natural waist, making sure it is not too tight. Ask your model to slowly flex the body by leaning forward and back and side to side. The slipknot will find the natural waistline, which is roughly halfway between the rib cage and belly button. Tighten the slipknot ever so slightly and position it so that it is parallel to the ground across the front, side and back. Once you are happy with its location, wrap a soft tape measure around the waist, bringing it together at the front.

HIP MEASUREMENT

To take the hip measurement, wrap a soft tape measure around the lower torso at hip level. It’s the largest part of the buttocks and thigh. Bring your tape measure together at the front, ensuring that the tape measure is parallel to the ground across the front, side and back.
